![]() ![]() If it has a serial number on the label, it likely begins with "GP", "MP", or "KP"- which is are the early Peerless factory designations. Example of a Gibson serial number: A real serial number is stamped dark on the back of the headstock. Conversely, it is of course no guarantee whether the guitar is authentic, as a serial number is easy to copy. If a serial number is not in the lists or is not recognized in the serial number decoder, it does not mean that the guitar is a fake. (read more in the FS section on this guitar). I am told these guitars were brought in under the Robelli name for the Sam Ash Co. Same guitar as the Peavey Rockingham and the same guitar as the Gretsch Streamliner G3131, just a different headstock. Just traded into a Washburn J-9 which is certainly a quality surprise.
